SOMETHING IN THE AIR

In this period of my life, I'm trying to figure out what kind of artist I want to be. I've come up with the conclusion that Illustration is the art that attracts me the most because it is the place where Sculpting, Modelling, Rendering, Photography, Image Editing, and Painting are able to meet. In my opinion, Illustration is the most effective way to give life to the imagination and perform creativity.
For this personal work, I was looking for a subject that could engage me through many difficulties and forces me to solve both technical and aesthetical problems. I thought that a landscape with water, foam, clouds, rocks, and multiple planes of depth (from very close to very far) would have been perfect. My intention was not to give life to a masterpiece but to develop a workflow to be used for future more ambitious projects.
Modeled and sculpted Mainly in Blender, Zbrush has been used very little, rendered in Blender with Cycles, image editing with Affinity Photo, and painting over with Sketchbook Pro.
